Stop Smoking

If you smoke, quitting completely is the most important thing you can do. Talk to your doctor about resources to help you stop smoking.

Take Care of Your Health

  • Avoid exposure to people who have the flu or other viral infections
  • Stay up-to-date on vaccinations
  • Avoid exposure to dust and fumes (including those from household cleaning products)
  • Stay away from second-hand tobacco smoke, air pollution, and other pollutants that may irritate your lungs or increase your risk of lung infection

Make Healthy Lifestyle Choices

  • Exercise regularly
  • Eat a balanced diet
  • Practice relaxation techniques

ARALAST NP [Alpha1-Proteinase Inhibitor (Human)]

ARALAST NP is indicated for chronic augmentation therapy in patients having congenital deficiency of A1-PI with clinically evident emphysema. ARALAST NP is not indicated as therapy for lung disease patients in whom congenital A1-PI deficiency has not been established.

The effect of augmentation therapy with ARALAST NP on pulmonary exacerbations and on the progression of emphysema in alpha1-antitrypsin deficiency has not been demonstrated in randomized, controlled clinical trials.
